Beloit Memorial High School Students to Attend International Manufacturing Technology
Beloit, WI, September 2022 – A group of Beloit Memorial Students will be attending this year’s International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) at the McCormick Place in Chicago, IL which takes place from September 12 - 17.
IMTS is the largest and longest-running industry trade show in the Western Hemisphere where the creators, the builders, the sellers, and the drivers of manufacturing technology come to connect and be inspired. Industry professionals from around the globe will visit IMTS to discover the latest innovations in digital and traditional manufacturing, experience more than 15,000 new machining technologies, and find processes that will help solve their manufacturing challenges and improve efficiency.
The students will attend the Smartforce Student Summit on Wednesday, September 14 where they will experience interactive exhibits from leading industry manufacturers who will demonstrate breakthrough smart, digital manufacturing technologies (Industry 4.0): additive manufacturing, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), automation and robotics, digital twin, generative design, and more. This year, teachers have a chance to win an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset.
"We are so excited to have our students attend and participate in IMTS," said Deb Prowse, Academy Coach at Beloit Memorial High School. "This is a place where students can learn and network with manufacturing industry leaders from around the world. We believe strongly in offering our students real-life, real-world experiences to broaden their view of their future job and career opportunities in manufacturing."
This opportunity for the students was made possible by Frances Brunelle, President of Accelerated Manufacturing Brokers, Inc., and Meaghan Ziemba, Host of Mavens of Manufacturing.
Brunelle sponsored the transportation for the students and Ziemba helped coordinate the opportunity with Debra Prowse, Career Academy Coach at Beloit Memorial.

IMTS is a great way to do exactly that. Every manufacturer should be sponsoring a group to attend IMTS. You can’t complain about the skills gap if you do nothing to solve it,” says Brunelle.
“For those of us in the sector, we need to do a better job advocating for the career opportunities that exist within engineering and manufacturing,” says Ziemba. “IMTS is the perfect place for these students to experience what modern manufacturing looks like and connect with potential mentors and future employers.”
